Parkinson’s Dis-ease

Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive neurological condition. People with Parkinson’s don’t have enough of a chemical called dopamine because some nerve cells in their brain have died. Without dopamine people can find that their movements become slower so it takes longer to do things. There have been no findings as to why a person gets Parkinson’s disease.

Yoga will help strengthen and create flexibility with in a person with Parkinson’s; it will also bring an inner balance and peace. With Parkinson’s disease it is important to flow through the postures rather than hold them, as this counteracts the spasms that can be triggered from holding postures for a while. However, some postures that create balance when held can be beneficial though.

What is the symptom trying to tell you?

This is the sign of a broken spirit. Somewhere along your path your spirit has been wounded and you have perhaps lost some faith. Reassure yourself that you are worthy of great things and congratulate yourself on your achievements no matter how small. Start by simply knowing that you are loved on a deep spiritual level that transcends time. Within you, you have great things to offer and share. Do some yoga and reconnect with your spirit again, and in doing so your spirit will heal.
