Scoliosis is a side-to-side curvature of the spine. The spinal curve can be in the shape of a C or S. The bend can be anywhere on the spine, lumbar (lower back) or thoracic (chest). It can be hereditary, be congenital and also develop anytime throughout life.

If you do have scoliosis, yoga postures can help. Yoga can help also in the prevention of scoliosis. In both cases, yoga will ensure your spine is maintained in as good a condition as possible. Noticing the earliest signs of scoliosis is important so you can correct or improve it as soon as possible.

What is the symptom trying to tell you?

Scoliosis is linked to a sense of feeling unsafe, and being unsafe to express oneself fully. This can be in any area of life and so now is the time for you to look into the areas where you are shaky. Conflict, perfectionism, angers and frustrations need to be resolved and let go of. Create balance in your life, and work towards contentment. The spine and above host seven major chakras and when we maintain our chakras we help maintain the spine. Full chakra meditations will help restore balance to your entire being.
