Tinnitus is the medical term for a person’s perception of an abnormal sound or noise, in one ear, both ears and/or the head. People who experience tinnitus may experience one or more of the following: a sound of buzzing, humming, music, whistling or rattling.


Treatment with conventional and alternative medicine will vary depending upon the cause of the tinnitus (wax build up, infection, injury etc), which can be different for each individual. Long term tinnitus usually has no cure, but can be managed with the use of yoga therapy, sound and relaxation.

What is the symptom trying to tell you?

What is going on in your life right now that is causing you to block things out? What don’t you want to hear or listen to? Could it be that you have so much going on in your life right now that you are in need of distraction? Perhaps now is the time to start to listen to yourself and your true inner thoughts? Create some space for just yourself and spend some time listening to what you really want in your life – as your job, lifestyle, your friends, relationships etc. Lighten your load where possible and be true to your heart –listen but also act on your inner feelings and desires.
