Vertigo (from the Latin vertō “a whirling or spinning movement) is a symptom rather than a condition itself. It’s the sensation that you or the environment around you is moving. Feeling sick, vomiting, blurred vision, weakness of legs and experiencing dizziness are indications of vertigo.

The symptom vertigo can last a few minutes, hours or days. When this happens remaining still and focused is important for you as any sudden movements can exacerbate it. Focusing on your breath here is the main yogic tool you need for when vertigo is experienced. Yoga postures and chakra meditations will help in between bouts to heal the real cause of the vertigo ‘symptom’.

What is the symptom trying to tell you?
Your system is in overload, and your head is spinning round in circles. It seems you have got so much information coming into you but it is not being processed fully so that you can let go of some of it also. You may also be struggling to make changes or be unsure of which direction to take. Balancing your chakras and in particular the top three – Vishuddha, , Ajna and Sahasrara is important for you to do, so that your energies are balanced and you are able to think clearer to make decisions. Quiet time in meditation will help. See the Yoga Shop for Chakra meditation download and CD.
